Welcome to Encourage Empowerment
I am a child and family trauma therapist who is fascinated with the complexities of our human experience. My mission is to work on promoting wellness and wholeness within, with children, adolescents, and family systems, who have been impacted by traumatic events. I specialize in complex interpersonal developmental trauma and use a variety of person centered, innovative techniques to promote healing, including the involvement of caregivers, sensory based interventions, and shared play to support children’s natural ways of regulating their bodies and their emotions, facilitate attachment-building and allow for embodied processing of traumatic experiences.
I have over 20 years of experience working with diverse populations of children/adolescents and families, in outpatient settings, mental health clinics, in-home services, therapeutic group homes, and residential treatment. I am trained in multiple trauma specific modalities, including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and Dr. Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Caregiving (NMC). In addition, I carry certifications in Clinical Trauma Specialist-S (CCTSS) Sex-trafficking and Exploitation, Clinical Trauma Specialist – Family (CCTSF), and Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
