I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Associate Counselor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I have completed the Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and the Clinical Trauma Specialist Sex Trafficking and Exploitation trainings through Arizona Trauma Institute. I have additional training in TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
I recently completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Arizona State University and have clinical experience in counseling individuals with depression, anxiety, women’s issues, religious trauma, medical trauma, and unresolved complicated grief. I utilize a child-centered approach with the belief that the individual already holds the seeds of their healing within themselves, and given attuned attachment and unconditional positive regard they will find an empowered path to healing. I am passionate about assisting youth with building mindfulness skills, restructuring negative thoughts about the self, developing authenticity and body positivity, and uncovering meaning in their thought patterns. I often use sandtray therapy to assist clients in making sense of their narrative through symbols, as this can be particularly helpful for those with a history of trauma as this modality does not require language for clients to tell their story.
It is my privilege to assist young clients and their families in developing hope, healing, and peace of mind around the traumatic events that have occurred in their lives. Welcome to Encourage Empowerment!
